“Sir John Harvey-Jones
would turn in his grave!”

Rich & Famous

Saturday, 1st January 2011 by Neville Clark

Many people have studied the Ultra rich and famous to see what the secret to their wealth is and most conclude that there is a powerful self belief and clarity of purpose in these media icons people.

What I conclude is these people are sat on the top of a machine that drives their lives to the point they have little or no life of their own.

so...

When you dream up that magic idea that will give a new direction to your career I recommend you also draw up a plan of how you will stay grounded with a life of your own.  Gill Fielding uses 'exit strategies' to do this and I know of several other entrepreneurial people using this approach.

Set a point in the business plan when you will divest yourself of the business and move on to another project.  This point must be before the success is too great or you will be addicted and it will be much harder to get out.

This is part of balance - balance your day-to-day life needs with your altruistic ambition and stay socialable and personable without hangers on.
