Phone a friend

I get something like 200 emails per day of which 20-30 are actually emails from people I know or would want an email from. Of those 4-5 are clear, unambiguous, concise, to the point and nice to read. Of these only one a day was really good use of the email communication medium.
Something happens when people have a new communication medium - they use it a disproportionate amount of the time and when it is not the best way to get the job done.
Same goes for texts, mobile phone calls, Fax, voice messages and simple phone calls.
Eight times out of ten we could get the job done better, quicker, more efficiently using a different communication channel to the one we first think of.
Think before you communicate "Is this the best way to achieve what I want to achieve?"
