New Things Make you Happy:
Remember when you were little and you were given something new that you really liked?  It was exciting and brought energy from places looking back now you can see were not just about the item passing hands.

1. It was a passing of material for you to possess
2. The person passing it gave you signs of what it meant to them
3. You gave them signs of what getting it meant to you
4. People looked on and were rewarded too
5. You gained from what that item gave you - ability, confidence, pride, satisfaction etc...

I hear more mature people saying things like "I don't need anything now I am old" and "Christmas if for the young".  They are missing the point in many ways whether they are Christians or not.  The point is it is better to give than receive - fact.

The same happens when you give yourself something if you could only stop and realise it.  Go on try it now.  Stop reading this and go and give yourself something as a treat for reading this far...

...Right now read this and do it every time you need a little boost:
- Find somewhere calming for you and sit comfortably
- If safe to do so shut your eyes and let your arms/limbs hang to your sides
- Remember one of the things you have done in the past that did not go as well as planned and that is likely to happen again
- Think how you could have done it better - by yourself or by involving people around you or looking for new people that have expertise in the area needed
- Think what the early signs were that it was not going to plan - picture/feel/taste/smell them in date sequence and think what reaction they need to trigger in you next time
-Now imagine if you had used your new knowledge last time how would things have turned out.  (If you are not satisfied then go through it again or get a friend to help)
-Now go back to the treat you have just given yourself and every time you have that treat go through the plan again.

Do this with all your treats and not only will you be happier and more confident you'll actually be better able to achieve what you want in life.

...and better able to give to others around you!
