Heat & Dust

Friday, 1st January 2010 by Neville Clark

Have you ever watched those nature programs and seen one about the desert?

Have you seen the shape of the bottom of a telegraph pole in desert area?

A sand-storm does most damage at ankle height so wooden poles wear in a belt about six inches off the ground.  This is where most of the dust is carried in the air.

A computer standing on the floor will ingest dust in the cleanest home and this will cause it to over heat.  Symptoms of overheating are much like virus activity:

Computer blue-screens a lot

Error messages appear saying program has to close due to xxxx

The system becomes noisier

Time for a service and relocation of the computer - if possible put it on a shelf or desk.
