Just when I thought the highlight of Charles early life would be pooh he goes and surpasses himself - splashing in the bath and coping keenly and admirably with a breast full of milk; something I have found very difficult these past months!

First he took a while to get the hang of it, sucking, choking a bit, coughing, trying again, eyes watering (a bit like daddies first pint of beer only Charles wasn't sick afterwards).  He had taken about a third of what he needed before he was tired out so we topped him up by tube.  Next feed he took two thirds and was much better at it.  We'll see how he is next feed, but things are looking fine so far.

Oh and he had a bath - well even I draw the line and not bathing for 25 days (most of the time).  A gentle splash about in his bath with mum.

A thoroughly good day and much needed boost to troop morale.

2nd visit he had another feed and did well again.
The nurses will continue to do some feeding by bottle and top him up by tube if he does not manage it all.

Let us see how he is tomorrow - he has to get stronger and take his full feed before he might come home...
