Walking!!!

This is perhaps the most significant milestone in Charles progress from a prognosis of severe cerebral palsey to a lad walking and developing normally.

He has been walking holding on to things for over six months and we have deliberately enjoyed his months of crawling and surfing the furniture.  Recently he has found his trolley to be the best fun toy and is running from room to room.  Yesterday he was happy to let go of us and walk from person to person.  Today he is happy to stand up and walk from point to point rather than crawl as he used to do.

I make that 18months (correction - 16months) - so well within the normal development average.

His talking is also progressing well with him saying short sentences - some of which make absolute sense and others we can't work out.  It is just awesome to see him develop so well and be such a lovely kid to parent too.

My thoughts are with friends going through very tough times at the moment - Cindy is going in for an operation very soon to remove the cancerous growths in her chest and Dawn having operations to remove the likely sites of secondary cancer. May God smile on you as he has on Charles.
