Charles has a new bedroom and to compliment the colour scheme and cot we had to find some other furniture so he might use his new room. Mum says Ikea do the best value for money quality items so a trip to Croyden was forced past Dad's anti-shopping radar.
Of course Dad wanted to 'pop up and get the unit selected', but Mum wanted to be a part of the trip and 'have a look around'. That meant Charles was part of the plan and Dad's 9am start looked less likely...
10am we headed out of Ashington, London bound. Charlie enjoyed an hour and a half of eyelid inspections before we parked and headed in for a quick coffee. He then woke up and wanted a little attention so we plumped for the meat-ball alternative and we all had lunch.
12.30 we started to shop (window shop) and Charlie decided he needed to see the baby changing facilities. Shopping continued until 2.30 when we actually got a trolley and put boxes on it and paid for them. 2.45 Charlie had a top up and we set off home. (We phoned a friend to take Emily in because we would not be home before her.)
3.50 We bowled into Timberlea Close and unloaded the booty. Charles comment on his first Ikea trip was to fill his nappy to bursting and need a complete change of clothes!!! Well done son you have a good grasp of things already.
Dad is now resisting plans to assemble 'flat-pack' item tonight...
How long can I make writing this blog last?
Emily has just filled her Ty net with her vast collection and needs Dad to put a suitable suspension point in her room.
Looks like DIY is imminent...
