Thursday 29th Day 48 7lb 7oz Thursday, 29th March 2007
By popular demand...

Charles is settling into his new family and lifestyle very well he just has to get the occupants organised to his routine of anarchy and he will be fine.  Gradually and slowly his parents have come to realise he is working to his own ambition levels that are, as we have seen before, much more rapid than their own....

Mum and Dad would have him sleep most of the time and he would rather be awake and taking it all in.

Mum and Dad would rather he just suckled at the breast, but he wants Dad more involved and Granny too so insists on 120ml or even 130ml at some feeds.

Mum and Dad would like him to just settle to sleep after feeding, but he likes a gentle massage, tummy rub, gentle joggle, wheel around the village and then a hiccup slow rest on Mum or Dad's tummy while his top eyelids throw grappling hooks to the bottom lids and heave a slow sequence of tug-of-war to and fro until they meet.

Mum and Dad would rather he pooh before his nappy change and then stayed clean for his nap, but he would rather soil a clean nappy just to make it his own as soon as it is left unattended.

Showing off he can even point percy out the side and get Dad soaked (slow learner is Dad)!!

Mum and Dad would like him to lay quietly - he like to coo and chat and turn his head, look all around and then howl to get a better view

Mum and Dad would like him to cuddle up close and develop his muscles gently; he wants to be a boxer and develop a gymnasts grip plus jump ten stories by the time he can crawl.  He almost draws blood when he grips my boob just to see if it is like mummy's (it isn't despite several attempts from several strategic approaches).  He almost jumps off my lap when he has wind by pushing with his legs so hard I have to be careful with the jewels.  He is almost climbing up my shirt to look into my eyes nowadays so I don't think it will be long before he takes no notice of a thing I say...    Come to think of it can someone tell me when kids do take any notice?

All in all we have a great little boy and he is showing us every millisecond of every day why he is in charge we should go with the flow.

...reminds me very much of a little girl we had 11 years ago.

Gotta love him and it is very easy.

All the other worries pale when I hold him and he is far more attentive to mad Dad nonsense than ever before.  Tonight he finally gave up staring at his nutter of a Dad and went to sleep - then dreamt a rather restless dream about him while enjoying beer belly warmth for three hours.  Wonderful!

You have missed a lot of comings and goings so
First Responders came for their first cuddle (of many) and admitted they got the day off suffering shock the day he dipped a toe in the water of the breathing world and changed his mind at the end.
Granny has returned to keep us in Tea, casseroles and Doghnuts to mention just a few of the delicacies being served here now.
Auntie Liz and Uncle Gerald have popped in for a day
Charles has had his second paediatric appointment - all fine, bit jaundiced, slightly slower weight gain than average and muscles a bit stiff - nothing to worry about and just like me after too many beers...apart from the weight gain of course.
Building work is progressing well - roof on and scaffold down - working on innards now
Neighbours - some like it some hate it and one is moving to France!
Emily - got over her 50 house points and received he award plus has not had any bad behaviour slips this school year and had this rewarded with a special school trip along with about 100 other kids this term.  She went bowling and got two strikes - she tells me this is very good!!  Most of the time she  is caring for sick pets in her virtual Vet world.  She is the most caring loving sister Charles could wish for and even showed Mum and Dad how to get him calm and contented when they had both failed.  I hope you appreciate that when you are older Charlie.
This week saw several stressed work colleagues return to work and it was brilliant to chat and exchange a joking banter.  Good for them and me as we get over our traumas.

Thanks again for your support and prayers and don't forget to keep the paeds kit auction items (or cash donations) coming in.

Got some pics to add here later...
