Saturday Day 8 addendum Saturday, 17th February 2007
Some quick Q & As

1. Is Cathy staying at the Hospital
A. No she is well and fit (up and about within 6hrs of giving birth) we both agreed we wanted to be together and Charles is well cared for.  So we both travel in each day to spend time with him and help with his care.

2. Is Cathy expressing?
A. Yes she has been using the modern breast-pumps to great effect and the freezer in the hospital is well stocked (just as well because each 2ml requires a whole pot to be thawed and the rest thrown away)

3. What was his hearing test result?
A. The test of his hearing did not happen (Nursery 1 was too busy last night) so it will happen soon...

4. Is he on antibiotics?
A. I don't know and will ask tomorrow whether the second test of his antibodies proved he had an infection.  Id do know he is stable temperature and other factors so is not showing signs of being ill.

5. How are you coping?
A. It is amazing how calm you can be on the outside when your insides are crying with pain and anguish mixed with excitement and joy.  Just taking each day as it comes and thanking God for the time he is giving us with Charles and the joy Charles is bringing. Praying as a family also helps us share the joys and fears we hold.  When one of us is really down the other two join forces to pick them back up.

Part of the help and release mechanism is this blog - letting people know what is happening helps release the tension.  Your emails and messages continue to be the 'virtual' member of our family working with us, supporting us, pushing us onward and upwards.

With that sharing we also feel guilt - we are sorry we have made some family and friends feel what we are feeling and made you sad.  We can cope with whatever life throws at us and will get through with a smile and be happy in the end.  It is most important to us that you do that with us too and share your fears/issues with us and we will help if we can.

  Thank You.

Love
