“Sir John Harvey-Jones
would turn in his grave!”

Poem Saturday, 3rd March 2007
Eyes glisten

Charles your eyes open and bright
Hide memories of horror and fright
Drink your milk and grow man grow
We love you lots so go man go

Grasping, Pulling, pushing and kicking
We all know it is grim death you're licking
Shine as a beacon for all to see
What's meant to be is what's meant to be

As you grow you'll soon discover
A life of your own a woman a lover
Children of your own a miracle sure
Right now you'd be happy asleep on a shore

With care and attention you'll make the grade
be it teacher, surgeon or bucket and spade
Laughing and giggling my only aspiration
You'll do it I know with grim determination
