Monday Day 10 Monday, 19th February 2007

OK so test results are still not here and yet more tests are being done that we won't know results for weeks...but,

Mum had a cuddle then...

I had a cuddle and he smiled - yes it was wind but he smiled and that was lovely.

More than 45mins of cuddle for me while Cathy was expressing and Charles was perfect and content - even did a pooh for me - wonderful.  Then I changed his nappy - how much better can life get!!

He was looking around much more and really awake this time much more attentive to what was going on and focussing on things to take them in.  Legs kicking and hands gripping sod the test results we can see and know these things for ourselves.

Tests:

  • He had some antibiotics and they are doing culture tests to see what it was and if it is gone (No, not tests to see if he is cultured!)
  • MRI from last Wednesday (results sent off but apparently the expert was away and is back today) - results today/tomorrow (this is a picture of the inside of his brain showing the chemical makeup so they can see which parts if any are damaged.)
  • EEG - done this pm if they can get staff and results will be sent off for response in one/two weeks... (This is a test of the electrical activity in each area of the brain showing which parts are electrically active and how normal the activity is)
  • Hearing tests - three nurses are trained to do these and they all work in Nursery 1 so only get a chance when things are quiet (scuse the pun).  At present things are busy in all the Nurseries.
  • Acidity tests on his stomach juices - they are using enemas to get him moving as the miconium poohs are clogging him up still.  Looks like he is getting there and things are moving so this should right itself soon.

Dad Cuddle

Headache gone for now and back on solids (me) so much happier.
