| Monday 12th Day 31 Final Hurdle | Monday, 12th March 2007 |
The Final Hurdle is being cleared in slow motion, frame by frame, bit by bit, inch by inch, sleepless hour by sleepless hour by Cathy on her own. Emily and I are there supporting in spirit and word, but ultimately it is down to Cathy to make this huge effort on her own. She is staying positive, believing Charles will suckle routinely and not being down hearted when he has a funny five hours...and ends up with a bottle. That is some task with any baby and Charles has inherited two lots of stubbornness (so I am told). We gave her a pick-me-up call tonight and dragged her out for a steak and chips - we could visibly see life return to her face as she ate. She is in for a second stint tonight and we will call her in the morning. Nurses are saying they think Charles will be ready to come home tomorrow - Tuesday. I know Cathy will be much happier here at home with Charles. Let the new life begin. |
