Friday Day 7 Friday, 16th February 2007

No Results of the MRI scan so we have to cope with the stress of waiting until Monday/Tuesday.

Never mind he is doing very well and has moved from Nursery 1 (24hr watch intensive care) to Nursery 2 (24hr routine checks and monitoring) which is a brilliant step in the right direction.

Cathy had an hour skin-on-skin cuddle with him today and his eye movements are smooth and controlled - he appears to be looking at us and the things around him - he focussed both eyes on his nose when I tapped it.

I got to change a nappy (fortunately no pooh) and lifted him on and off mum for her cuddle.  I could feel his strength as he wriggled and gave a small cry.

He is having his hearing checked tonight.

He has slightly raised antibody count so they may put him on antibiotics tonight also.

Food is the current concern with mother's milk being slow to go through him.  Early days and his stomach should settle in a little while then we might think about letting him suckle.

Thanks again for your cards and emails - they are brilliant - a tonic when we get home each day.
