Birth - Friday 8am Friday, 9th February 2007
7.30am Friday 9th Feb I call Hospital to say we are
coming in as Cathy is a little more uncomfortable and
thinks baby might be coming. They say take it easy and
come in at 5mins between contractions.
7.35am Cathy says it is about 5.5mins between
contractions so we should go in and she goes into the
shower
7.36am Cathy screams her waters have broken and I get
her to our bedroom one foot appears
7.37am I call 999 and get advice from consultant over
phone - legs and bum appear
7.45am local first aiders arrive and take over - check
cord position
7.50am Ambulance arrives and paramedic takes over -
arms out
7.55am Head half delivered
8.00am Baby out and a little blue - not breathing
8.03am CPR started and baby rushed to hospital
8.15am baby ventilated at Worthing Hospital
(these are approximate times)

Oxygen starvation to some level during the above so
baby transferred to County Hospital Brighton TMBU for
specialist care and recovery.

Current status is Charles Edward Clark born 8am Friday
9th Feb 2007 6lb 2oz is physically strong, but brain
damage is suspected and further tests will reveal
extent of damage.

He is a joy to behold and we know you join us and all
our friends and family in wishing him a full recovery.

Mum Dad and Big Sister stressed and putting a brave
face on it when they can.
